The Dysart Development Corporation and the Dysart Blue Hats Club hosted the third annual Golf Cart Cruise last week. The weather was absolutely beautiful as people started arriving on Main Street with their golf carts. The cruise was set to start at 6 pm, and last until about 6:30. Then everyone was invited to enjoy dinner at Chelles, the Brick-a-Brack, or LB's Pizza. Most of your favorite Main Street Shops stayed open late for the event as well including Front Porch Primitives and Antiques and the new to town KE Black Mercantile Kitchen Store. People enjoyed browsing through the shops and enjoying a coffee or smoothie from KE Black while the event was getting started. There was popcorn for all to enjoy brought out by the DDC and served by Dwayne Luze.
Each year the number of carts in the cruise has increased. Last year there was 22 in attendance and this year there was 25! It is a fun event for everyone in the family to enjoy. The cruise takes off on Main Street and they continue to stroll down the streets of town waving at all of the on lookers and catching some smiles along the way. You do not need to sign up for this event, just simply show up on Main Street with your Golf Cart and you are more than welcome to join. There is no-cost for joining this event either.
Every year the DDC and Blue Hats put together a drawing in which every golf cart that shows up is eligible to win. The grand prize is a golf cart service by Young's Golf Cart's which is located right here in Dysart. This year the grand prize was won by Raea Struve. Congrats Raea!
They also give away ten, $10 Dysart Dollar coupons. The winners of the Dysart dollars this year are as follows; Coni Coffey, Mary Wankowic, Rich Behrens, Wanda Peterson, Ora Hennessy, Dana Mccombs, Jerry Huffman, Kendall Havran, Lois Hein, and Greb Obrosk. Congratulations everyone and enjoy your prizes!
The DDC and Blue Hats will be hosting this wonderful event again next summer, so be sure to keep your eyes out for the dates and come down and join the fun. It will most likely be sometime in August as it was this year and previous years. Lets get even more than 25 carts next year and keep this awesome new tradition alive! Thanks again to the DDC and the Blue Hats, your hard work is appreciated by all!
