The Cedar Valley Corvette Club stopped through town last Thursday August, 7th. The club meets weekly in the summertime to enjoy each other's company and their love of Corvettes. Jackie and Ora Hennessey from Dysart have been long time members of the club, and love taking out their gorgeous red and white 1961 C1 Corvette (pictured above).
They all met at the Dysart City Park for a potluck style dinner that included burgers, brats, salads, and much more. The food looked delicious and the cars looked beautiful! Jackie did most of the planning for the get together in Dysart last week. Including getting all the food bought or prepared and getting the park all set up and ready to go. Jackie also celebrated her birthday earlier in the week, so there was a wonderful cake brought out for the potluck as well.
There are people in the club from all around the area, not just Dysart. Some are from Waterloo or Cedar Falls and others from Reinbeck, Vinton and other surrounding towns. The Club has a wide range of different makes and years of Corvettes. The oldest car in the club would be a 1959 which is owned by Darrel and Linda Fox of Waterloo. A couple of 2014 Corvettes could also be seen on Thursday night, one of which is owned by James and Nancy Geiger of Cedar Falls, the exact model of their car is a C7 Stingray Z51 Coupe, and it is white and black (seen below).
As of June 1, 2014 there were a total of 90 members in the Cedar Valley Corvette Club, and if you include significant others there is 164 total members. The club considers itself more of a casual club, members are not required to go to every gathering, but they are there as an option to get together.

The club will also be returning to Dysart on September 11th around 5-6 pm to meet at Chelle's for dinner. Stop on down to Chelle's and check out the beautiful cars and grab a bite to eat!
