The City of Dysart has received a Vision Iowa Community Attraction & Tourism CAT grant for $176,000 for the "Remembering Our Past, Renovating For The Future" projects. The Vision Iowa CAT program assists in funding of vertical infrastructure projects related to recreation, education, entertainment and cultural activities. The award is contingent on the community raising the final funds needed to complete the funding package. Next, the project architect will finalize plans and prepare documents for bids. Organizations and local groups utilizing the community building have been removing their items from the building in preparation for construction to begin. The schedule calls for the building to be closed for public use on January 1, with an estimated re-opening date of September 1, 2015.
