During the power outage on June 30, 2014, it was discovered that our current outdoor warning siren is not compatible with our new generator system. This generator services the Fire Station, Ambulance Building, and Community Building in the event of a power outage. Action was taken at the July 9 City Council meeting to replace the existing siren.
In the event that we experience another storm and power outage before the new system can be installed, the Fire Department will drive around town with lights and sirens, just as they did on June 30.
All of our city staff works hard to protect the citizens of Dysart. Please take a moment to recognize and thank our Fire Department, Ambulance Service, Public Works Department and Police Officers. Their positions expose them to many dangers while they are protecting our town.
