Milo J. Nachazel, 94

Milo John Nachazel was born on January 7, 1920, on the home place in Carroll Township, the son of John G. and Mary (Parizek) Nachazel. Milo farmed with his father until he entered the Army in 1942. On May 1, 1944, he was united in marriage to Lillian Rund at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church. Milo was sent to the front on May 6, 1945 with the 16th Armored Division. He was honorably discharged on October 25, 1945 and was awarded medals and ribbons, including the Good Conduct Medal and an Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with one star. Upon his discharge, Milo took over the family farm and continued until a farming accident in August of 1983. He was a member of the American Legion, KD Lodge and Foresters. He enjoyed playing cards, going to polka dances and watching westerns and Nascar. Milo died at the age of 94 on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Sunnycrest Nursing Home in Dysart. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Duane Nachazel; a grandson, Michael Stoakes; and six brothers and sisters. Milo is survived by his wife, Lillian; five children, Marilyn (John) Fassbinder of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Marlys (Ed) Stoakes and Larry (Sue) Nachazel of Traer, John Nachazel of Toledo and Diane Nachazel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and seven step great grandchildren.
