The Dysart Lions Club held their Annual Christmas Lighting Contest again this year and once again it proved to be a difficult decision for the judges to make. Many miles were driven going back for second and third looks. The judges commented that for the last three years they wish a special award could be given for all of the beautiful red trees that give a great first impression when coming in town on the west end of Wilson Street. So, this year's First Prize went to the "West Wilson Neighborhood Group" and John and Roxanne Schneider for the organizing and building of trees, the group received $50 in Dysart Dollars. Second Prize went to Al and Ruth Schafbuch on Sherman Street for their very colorful lighting in the front and sides of the house along with their animated lighting, they received $30 in Dysart Dollars. Third Prize went to Robert and Veda Elliott for extensive lighting both up and down on their large two-story house and extensive lighting around the yard, back of the house, and garage, they received $20 in Dysart Dollars. The judges reiterated that they wish more prizes could be awarded. Dysart does a beautiful job in decorating and celebrating the Christmas season.
