Kelli Kleppe - Reporter , Dysart Reporter

Ben Paramter was sworn in on Monday December 2nd as the new full-time police officer. Ben grew up in Vinton, and currently resides in the country near there. Ben graduated from Vinton High school in 2004. After high school he joined the Army in which he served a total of six years. During his time in the Army, Ben was deployed to Iraq from 2005-2007. After returning home, he decided he would take his career in another direction. Ben left the Army and went directly into school to be in law enforcement. After school and training he spent three years in Winnebago County as a deputy sheriff. He enjoyed his work there, but decided he would like to be closer to home. Ben will primarily be working the night shift here in Dysart, as the department plans to have a cop on duty at nearly all times.
