Two new businesses holding open houses Dec. 7

December 6, 2013
Kelli Kleppe - Reporter , Dysart Reporter

Dysart is welcoming two new businesses to town! Jenna "Oliver" Scott has just opened Handz and Strandz, which is a full service salon. Jenna has been a long time resident of Dysart and stated she could not be more excited to bring her business to her hometown, and to become a part of the Dysart Main Street hustle and bustle. Jenna will offer services for women, men, and children. The services will include haircuts, colors, styling, perms, waxing, manicures, and also pedicures. She will be open Monday through Friday from 9-5, and will be staying late on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. She will also be open Saturdays from 9-2. Jenna specializes in unique nail designs and nail art, so if you want cute holiday nails, or have seen something online or on a friend, stop on by and watch her work her magic!

The second new business is Front Porch Primitives. Lisa Bandfield, who grew up just north of Traer, has lived in Dysart for about six years. Lisa has always enjoyed antiques and primitive items. In the past she has done a lot of work selling things online and she was ready to make her business into a store front! Front Porch Primitives will also run as a consignment type of shop. So if there is something you would like to sell, you can bring it down and have it checked out! Lisa would also like to do a monthly "Farmers Market" type of event where people can bring baked or canned goods for sale. What a great idea since we can not have the outside Main Street Farmers Market during the winter months! Front Porch Primitives will also carry Union School Clothing, Gourmet popcorn and handmade crocheted items.

Both businesses will be having an Open House this Saturday December 7th. Dysart is hosting its annual Christmas on Main and they figured what a better time to invite people to come explore their new adventures. Stop by Handz and Strandz and get a gift certificate for someone for the Holidays, or just yourself, and be sure to enter into the drawings and giveaways that Jenna will be offering that day. You can book your appointment ahead of time, but if there is time Walk-ins are more than welcome! Jenna will also be offering a special drawing for a "Peppermint Pedicure" to go along with the Christmas on Main Theme this year. Front Porch Primitives will also be having an open house at the same time, so be sure to stop down and look at all the beautiful antique items, or there is something you would like to sell, you can bring it down and have it checked out!
