Last Saturday marked the 42nd year that Dysart held its Annual Holiday Bazaar. The event, as usual had a great turnout! All of the businesses downtown were having special offers and deals to kick off the holiday season. Wanda, from Sassy's Boutique stated that Sassy's has been involved in the bazaar for six years. She said that she has people call for months ahead of time, asking about the bazaar, and anticipating its return. Over the years, Wanda has seen people come from all over the place to enjoy this special event.
There were two new businesses open for this years event as well! Lisa, from Front Porch Primitives, and Jenna, from Handz and Strandz, were both able to get their new businesses up and running for the bazaar. There is another store downtown that is new to the Bazaar this year, The Iowa Country Store just opened this last summer, so they were very excited about the event, and could not wait to see the turnout and what the bazaar is all about!
Many new faces, yet old familiar faces were all around. Many people, like the Myers, who originated from Vinton, have made this an annual mother/daughter trip. They said the bazaar is a wonderful event and it is one of their favorite traditions.
Pictured above are scenes from this year’s Holiday Bazaar, including three ladies from the Myers family, who attend every year.
Once everyone was all shopped out, or just needed to take a break off their feet, lunch was being served in the community building. Chelle's Bar and Grill, which is also new to the bazaar had a vendor fair taking place as well! What a wonderful turnout Dysart had this year. It is truly amazing to see all of the business come together and continue such a wonderful tradition. Everyone's hard work is greatly appreciated so that the residents of Dysart, and people from all around can continue to enjoy this special event, in our wonderful little town!
