On Saturday, December 29, 2012, wedding vows were exchanged between Elizabeth Kristine Farr and Caleb Andrew Edwards. Parents of the couple are Melanie Farr and Shane Farr and Jim & Ronda Edwards.
The ceremony was held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion. Officiant was Pastor Dennis Johnson. There was exchanging of rings and the couple chose pouring of unity sand in the colors of blue and white.
The bride was given away by her father. She chose a white gown with a sweetheart neckline and mermaid fit. She accented it with a diamond necklace and earrings. She wore white heels with small bows in the sides.
The bridesmaids wore knee-length royal blue dresses. They wore diamond studded earrings and pearl & diamond necklaces, gifts from the bride. Their shoes were silver sandles with diamons on them.
Serving as Maid of Honor was Taylor Farr, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mackenzie Meyer, Valerie Romero, Meghan Paullins, all friends of the bride and Shayla Shreeves, cousin of the bride.
The groom wore his "Marine" Dress Blues, while the groomsmen wore black tuxes with royal blue ties and vests. Best Man was Joshua Edwards, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Zach Bergen, Willie Bergen, Marshall Karr and Jimmie Himschoot, all friends of the groom.
Personal attendant was Natalie Lyng, friend of the bride. Ushers were Collin Farr, brother of the bride, Jacob and Jonah Prall, cousins of the bride. Guest book attendants were Tarryn and Raegan Shreeves and Hannah Prall, cousins of the bride. Bible verse readers were Jim Edwards, father of the groom and Chad Prall, uncle of the bride.
Five roses were placed on the alter in loving memory of the couple's grandparents, who were with them in spirit.
Reception and dance followed at Prairie Oak Lodge at Squaw Creek Park in Marion. Host and hostess were Bryan & LeAnn Hoeg and Chad & Hillary Prall, aunts and uncles of the couple. The food was prepared by Brenda Hoeg, cousin of the groom. Wedding cake and cupcakes were made by Leslie Bechtold, friend of the family.
Caleb is currently serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan. When he returns in December, they will make their home near Camp Pendleton in California.
