Local students excelling in many majors at college

Several area students were named to the Dean's Lists at their respective universities this week, illustrating their work ethic and dedication to academic pursuits at the next level.

Katelyn Damro, of Dysart, was among the students honored at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for the spring semester. Damro was named to the honors list, meaning she had a GPA of over 3.50 on a 4.00 scale.

Jessica Brandt and Stephanie Freeland, both of Dysart, were also named to the Dean's List at Iowa State University in Ames. Brandt is majoring in Religious Studies and Freeland is an Animal Science major.

Caleb Dvorak, Erin Herink and Lillian Howard, all of Clutier, were also on the spring list at ISU. Dvorak is studying Landscape Architecture, Herink is studying Animal Science and Howard is majoring in Genetics (AGLS).

Several students from Vinton were also honored at Iowa State, including: Aric Hanson, Mechanical Engineering; Matthew Hart, Engineering; Carly Kelty, Finance; Lindsay Kelty, Linguistics; Kathryn Larkin, Child, Adult & Family Services; Alexandra McGill, Community and Regional Planning; Emily Olson, Agricultural and Life Sciences Education; Jessica Olson, Biochemisty; Trish Reifenstahl, Communication Studies; and Katelynne Stueck, Animal Science.
