The Dysart Historical Center is open for the season on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m. and anytime by appointment. You are invited to enjoy a visit to your community museum in air-conditioned comfort.
New additions this year include a new computer with the interactive "My American Farm" program for students and adults. The program is available thanks to Pioneer Seed and the American Farm Bureau. The new computer is courtesy of the Tama County Foundation. An "outhouse" (actually to be used as a garden shed) has been added to the Center to accompany the Country School. A farm windmill will be going up soon.
There will be a special program at the Historical Center the last Sunday of each month during the summer and early fall. The next program will be held on June 30th at 2:30 in the Agricultural Museum. The program will be "The Buzz on Bees" and will feature Stan Geiken, Benton County Extension Director. Details on the program will be in the Reporter and on Channel 1 soon.
Anyone wishing to volunteer to staff the Center on a Sunday afternoon should call Helen at 476-3549. Those wishing to make an appointment to visit the Historical Center should call 486-7345 or 476-3549 to make arrangements.
