D-G Family Reading Night

March 15, 2013
Alissa Klenk - Reporter , Dysart Reporter

Students, parents, and staff attended the Family Reading Night on Thursday March 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Dysart Geneseo Elementary School. The school was decorated with a science theme, aimed at encouraging non-fiction reading.

In addition to shopping for books, students could visit the school library to read books with their families and also have their pictures taken behind an Einstein carnival cutout.

Students provided guesses on how many gummy worms were in a jar. The student that guessed the closest would earn money for book fair merchandise in addition to the jar of gummy worms to share with classmates.

The event kicked off the book fair, which was held March 7-14. Each book sale helped earn points that will be redeemed for library books at Dysart Geneseo.
