Girls have won six of last seven

While the boys have had a rough time the past few weeks, the Union girls have won three straight and six of seven overall, heading into the regular season finale against Vinton-Shellsburg on Thursday.

Sam Barz had a team-high 22 points and seven boards against a hapless Denver squad during the Knights' 64-22 victory last Friday night.

Breann Bader also had 20 points and three steals. Emily Phillips led the ladies with six assists, and Tessa Reiter had a team-high five steals in the contest.

Vinton-Shellsburg has just one win on the season and shouldn't prove much trouble for Union as the ladies make their way towards regional play, which begins Wednesday, February 13.
