Relay for Life kicks off 2013 efforts at Czech Point

The Relay for Life of Tama County will host a kick-off event on Thursday, February 7 from 6-7 p.m. at the Czech Point Restaurant in Clutier. Everyone is invited to attend who is interested in learning about how to take part in the Relay or how to form a Relay team. All kinds of details about the Relay for Life will be available. This Open House Kick-Off is open to anyone interested in fighting cancer.

The grand prize to be drawn that evening will be a $100 certificate for a team's registration. Other prizes and refreshments will also be given away.

Details about all aspects of the Relay will be available. The whole Relay for Life of Tama County will be described. Teams can learn how to get started. There will be information on how the American Cancer Society uses their funds to fight cancer and support cancer patients.

This exciting kick-off for the Relay for Life of Tama County is the beginning of all activities working toward the annual Relay for Life to be held on June 8 at the South Tama High School. The American Cancer Society, the official sponsor of more birthdays, is a major source of research funds, support services, and education to reduce the chances of cancer. The American Cancer Society helps local folks organize the Relay in Tama County to raise funds in the battle against cancer. Everyone is invited to attend the informational meeting on Thursday, February 7, at the Czech Point, 319 Main St., in Clutier.
