First of all, my sincere thanks to all that supported "The SpecialTea Room." Eight years ago when I opened Imagine This there was little on Main Street. I pondered for a year what to do to help bring people to Dysart for a unique day out. I opened the SpecialTea Room in 2006 in hopes of bringing people into town to help rejuvenate Main Street, and I believe it did.
The restaurant industry has never been a passion of mine. However, I knew to encourage people to visit Dysart, a special place to eat and visit was necessary. With the help of family, true friends, and God we built a good clientele base. My passion, and how "Imagine This" first started, is taking unwanted furniture and discarded items and create something unique and different. The time spent developing and expanding the Tea Room, left me little time to pursue this. Now that Nancy Freeland is taking over and improving the restaurant, I can now spend more time "up cycling" and doing what I love.
Change is good, and it is something you can count on happening. Many changes have happened over the years at 325 Main Street. This is not the end to the Tea Room, but a new beginning for Imagine Thisand Nancy's Caf and Confectionary. In 2013, both businesses will welcome old and new patrons, local and out of town. We are excited and anxious to create a new fresh addition to Main Street.
We have watched Main Street grow, and we welcome people from all surrounding areas to enjoy the novelties Dysart's Main Street has to offer. There are new ideas and businesses being added all the time. We encourage everyone to shop local and shop small. All of Dysart's businesses work hard and think hard to keep our town going.
Here's to a prosperous new year and new discoveries in Dysart!
