Walter Lorenzen and Miss Lillian Arp were united in marriage Wednesday afternoon, January 11, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart.

Mr. and Mrs. Dick Finley of Rochester, Minn., are the parents of their sixth child and fourth daughter, born Monday in Rochester. Mrs. Finley is the former Jane Brandt, daughter of Ruth Brandt of Dysart.

More than 100 men signed up to grow beards for the Dysart Centennial Saturday. The beard "kick-off" breakfast was attended by 248 people.
After the North Tama wrestling meet, senior Scott Hilmer still remains undefeated with an 8-0 record.

Jenni and Kevin Kugel of Dysart are the parents of their first child, a son, born on Friday, January 8, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He has been named Taylor Robert.
Officer-in-Charge at the Dysart Post Office, Sharleen Overton, spent last Friday afternoon selling the new Elvis stamps issued by the U.S. Postal Service. She sold approximately 2,000 stamps that afternoon.

Holiday Decorating Contest winners were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Evans, first; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Elliott, second; and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Paulsen, third. For the largest and most unique displays, Chuck Petersen took first place; Mr. and Mrs. Rich Behrens, and tied for third place were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gumbert and Mr. and Mrs. Lon Flickinger. In the commercial division, Sunnycrest Nursing Center took the honors.
