December 28, 2012
Dysart Reporter

Four students from the Union Middle School band program participated in the annual Merry TubaChristmas Concert at Westdale Mall on Saturday, December 8th at 2:00PM. Sixth graders Carlos Sanderson and Hunter Stwalley on Tuba, and Libby Sauer and Rashawn Williams on Baritone were the participants. Tuba, sousaphone, euphonium, and baritone players were of all ages and skill levels from ages 10 to 87. Low brass players from all over the state of Iowa and beyond came together with instruments decorated with lights and tinsel to prepare Christmas music to be enjoyed by the holiday shoppers. In total, 139 low brass players performed and the performance area was packed full of spectators. Merry TubaChristmas will come together again next year on the second Saturday in December.
