The timely arrival of the Dysart Farmers Fire Co. truck, manned by the Dysart firemen, at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. Walt Hark just north of Dysart Sunday night, saved the home from entire destruction by fire.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Willmore was the scene of a pleasant gathering of neighbors and friends Friday evening as a surprise in honor of Mrs. Willmore's birthday anniversary.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Wiese, living southeast of Dysart, are the parents of a son, their third child, born at the Vinton hospital Tuesday.
E. E. Taylor, 81, editor and publisher of the Traer Star Clipper for 65 years, died this morning.
Dec. 27, 1962
The Dysart community was shocked to learn of the sudden death of Mayor Olin R. Smith, 66, Saturday afternoon. He was in the Dysart Community Building where he was to hold court on a traffic violation when he suffered a fatal heart attack.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Pavlicek, west of Clutier, have purchased the 120 acre Louis Yuska farm near Dysart with possession to be given next March.

Funeral services for Dr. Harry L. Zimmer, 82, dentist in Dysart since April 1, 1915, were held Friday afternoon, December 29, in the Zion Lutheran Church.
Approximately 140 children attended the Dysart Christmas Party Saturday afternoon. Special films were shown and Santa Claus was there to give each child a bag of goodies.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lorenzen of Dysart will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, January 9, at the Dysart American Legion Hall. They were married January 11, 1933, at the Zion Lutheran Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Luze will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, January 8, with an open house at the Zion Lutheran Church fellowship hall in Dysart. They were married January 10, 1933, at the Zion Lutheran Church.

Funeral services for Robert M. Dengler, 51, of Dysart will be held on Thursday, December 31, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart.
The Union varsity wrestlers traveled to Muscatine Saturday, December 19, to take part in a tough Muscatine Duals and finished with a strong third place showing.
