Randy Winkelpeck, 57, of Dysart, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012, in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Dysart, with services to follow on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. also at Zion. Burial will occur at Dysart Cemetery.
Randy Lee Winkelpleck was born March 17, 1955 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, son of Gail and Anna Mae Mauderer Winkelpleck. He received his education in Dysart and graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School in 1973. He then began trucking for his father in the family trucking business and also worked on the farm. On May 20, 2000 he was united in marriage to Martha Riley at their home in Dysart. Since 2000 Randy operated Dysart Trucking Inc and where he hauled wind towers for General Electric all over the country. While on a trip, he became ill suddenly on Saturday, November 3, 2012 and was taken to the Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas where he died at the age of 57 years of an apparent heart attack. In his free time he enjoyed camping with his family, fishing, attending auctions and enjoyed his old cars. He was preceded in death by his father Gail and is survived by his wife Martha of Dysart, two sons, Daniel Jay Winkelpleck and Nicolas Richard Winkelpleck, his mother Anna Mae Winkelpleck and a sister Denise Kimball all of Dysart, Iowa.
