Tony Pospisil, 82, of Tony, WI, passed away Thursday, September 20th, 2012 with his loving family by his side.
Tony was born on March 14, 1930 in Tony, WI. He married Dorothy Vaughn of Conrath, WI in 1951 - together they had 6 children; Randy (Ronda Brooks) of Tony, WI; Roxi (Roger) Copas of Cornell, WI; Robin (Tom) Draus of Pearl River, LA; Rick (Bonnie) Pospisil of Bruce, WI; Ryan (Mary Turner) of Tony, WI; and Rhonda (Harry) Harrison of Clutier, IA; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Tony and Dorothy farmed for many years in Tony, WI. In 1978, with the help of their daughter, Rhonda, they established their own business the "Dysart Drive-In" located in Dysart, Iowa. Rhonda will continue the family business, opening again in the spring of 2013.
Dysart Drive-In is one of the very few original family owned and operated, serving "the best cheeseburgers and ice cream from miles and miles around." Tony and Dorothy spent spring and summer in Iowa and then returned home in Wisconsin for the winter months.
Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his loving wife. He was known for his Bohemian dumplings, home-made apple pies, and an occasional ice-cold beer in the morning :) Among his many interests; he particularly liked being outdoors, which consisted of washing his car, riding snowmobile, cutting wood and walking.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, Francis and Anton Pospisil; two brothers, Henry and Ray Pospisil; and survived by his two sisters, Mildred Dernovsek and Marie Haller.
A service was held in loving memory of Tony at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith, WI on Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 with Deacon Richard Leonard officiating.
