Ten local businesses have joined together with the H.A.T. Team to purchase advertising with KWWL. The businesses have advertised with KCRG and a little with KWWL in the past, but are hoping to more effectively reach the KWWL viewer area market.
The ads will be blasted strongly for a couple of weeks, and will then have a slower period before being blasted again for a couple more weeks to try to increase exposure and make a lasting impression on viewers. The overall goal is to familiarize people with Dysart in order to attract visitors to the town, to attract patrons to the businesses, and to encourage those in the market for a new home to check out the area.
Participating businesses include Blacksmith Boutique and Garden Studio, Imagine This, Sassy's Boutique, Custom Creations by Sheri, Carl Luze Real Estate, Redline Firearms, Where Two Corners Meet, CNC Lumber and Supplies, Security State Bank, and Terry's Food Center.
A billboard is still being sought in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area to help promote Dysart. The billboard would not focus on specific businesses, but would rather focus on Dysart as a great place to visit and live.
The Dysart City Council voted to allocate $800 to the Dysart Development Corporation to assist with the purchase of the billboard back in July.
