August Yard of the Month features Wrigley Field ivy

August 31, 2012
Alissa Klenk - Reporter , Dysart Reporter

The Yard of the Month for August has been awarded to Kendall and Brenda Kriz, at 1202 Wilson Street, by the Dysart Development Corporation.

The Krizs have a variety of plants, many of which were given to them by friends and family. Many of the plants in the yard were raised by seed by their brother-in-law Rex Raub, of Dysart, who has a great passion for plants and flowers and is also willing to share his knowledge with anyone who is interested.

Kendall takes care of the yard and both he and Brenda take care of the plants. They also hire Shamrock Lawn Service, a local lawn care company, to keep their yard looking nice and weed free.

The Kriz's planted a tree for each of their children the year that they were born and are amazed at how big the trees are at 26 and 28 years old. The deck also features the same kind of ivy that is at Wrigley Field where the Chicago Cubs play.

They have also collected a variety of yard ornaments in the thirty years that they have lived at their home, including a red water pump which was a working feature at their home when they first moved in.

The yard is beautifully maintained and features a variety of personal touches. Be sure to stop by to congratulate Kendall and Brenda on earning the August Yard of the Month.
