Aug. 18, 1932

Mr. and Mrs. Verne Goken residing south of Dysart are the parents of a baby boy born to them this Thursday morning, August 18.

John Cohrt, 53, prominent farmer of the Dysart vicinity passed away at a Waterloo hospital Tuesday evening, August 16.

Aug. 27, 1942

Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Wilson are parents of a daughter born Tuesday at the Vinton hospital. The baby has been named Susan Lee.

The Methodist church in Traer was the setting for the marriage of Miss Frances Kanis of Traer and Raymond Larsen of Dysart. The ceremony was performed Saturday afternoon.

Sept. 7, 1961

The Dysart elementary, jr. high and high school teachers were honored at a reception at the school house Tuesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Heckroth will observe their 25th wedding anniversary Sunday, September 10, with an open house at their home in south Dysart.

Aug. 23, 1962

Dysart had its first break-in in the past several months early Monday morning about 1 a.m. burglars broke into the Waller Phillips 66 service station located on Hwy. 21 in Dysart.

The Josephine Pippert residence, located at 501 Sherman Street in Dysart, has been sold to Mrs. Arlan Lamprecht of Dysart.

Aug. 24, 1972

Mr. and Mrs. David Callahan of Vinton are parents of their first son and child born on Friday, August 18. He has been named Darrell Wayne.

Custom Metal Fabricators of Dysart are constructing a new 66 foot by 120 foot all steel building on Highway 21 just north of Dysart on the former Kosnar Implement land.

Aug. 25, 1982

Daniel and Jane Beck of Eldora are the parents of a daughter born August 17, in Waterloo.

Brian Goken, 15-year-old son of Darwyn and Carol Goken of rural Dysart, died after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Abilene, Kansas, where he was visiting his grandfather.

Aug. 27, 1992

Eric and Dana Prestemon of Dysart became the parents of their third child and second son on Sunday, August 23, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He has been named Garrett Richard.

Kyle Lynn Jordan of Ames and Catherine Lea Wagner of Jewell were united in marriage on August 1, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams, Iowa.

Aug. 22, 2002

Andrea Nechanicky and Daniel Dufner were united in marriage on Friday, July 5, at St. Stephen the Witness Catholic Student Center in Cedar Falls.

Jennifer Weber and Casey Dreiling were married February 2, 2002, at Prince of Peach Catholic Church in Olathe, Kansas.
