The Cedar Harmony Chorus, of Sweet Adelines International, performed at the Dysart United Methodist Church on July 30. Sweet Adelines International is the largest of all woman singing organization in the world. The award-winning chorus is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
The Cedar Falls based choir meets most Monday evenings from 7-9:30 p.m. for vocal practice and to learn the choreography that is part of their performance. Women from all over the Cedar Valley participate, including DeLyte Ebbers of Dysart.
The performance in Dysart was part of a series of open rehearsals in the surrounding area. The group of women sang a capella songs in four-part harmony from a variety of genres. Their performance was 30 minutes followed by an open invitation for any women in the audience to experience what it's like to sing with the group.
