The Monroe Happy Hustlers 4-H Club had a great showing at the 2012 Benton County Fair held in Vinton.
Tairk Goken exhibited the Grand Champion Market Beef. Michael Ahrendsen showed the Reserve Champion Angus Heifer and Reserve Champion Lightweight Steer. Wes Kaufman exhibited the Grand Champion Market Lamb and Austin Lang the Reserve Champion Market Lamb.
Liz Wilson received the Senior Showmanship Sheep. Michael Ahrendsen also exhibited the Champion Pen of Three Pigs, Reserve Champion Derby Barrow, Champion Derby Gilt, and Reserve Champion Market Barrow.
Carter Moore of Dysart, who is a member of Monroe Happy Hustlers, took Champion Non-Commerial Poultry Pen of three on Thursday, July 27, at 3 p.m. for his Barred Rocks. Carter Moore exhibited the Champion Non-Commercial Individual Poultry. Other exhibiting livestock were: Zach Winkelpleck, Brock Hadachek, Leah Kaufman, Emily Wilson, Liz Wilson, Parker Wilson, Logan Brown, Kendall Putz, and Maria Wrage. Congratulations to all!
Non-livestock exhibits included Maria Wrage with Photography Consideration for State Fair; Leah Kaufman with five purples for clothing, photography, and food nutrition; and Jacob Murphy with a purple on woodworking. Others exhibiting included Lyric Dutton.
