Pauline Kober, 87, of Traer, passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, at Sunrise Hill Care Center. Visitation was held on Saturday, July 28, 2012, at 9 a.m., with a service following at 10 a.m. at Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer. Burial followed at Buckingham Cemetery.
Pauline Faith Kober was born April 17, 1925 in rural Traer, Iowa, daughter of Frank and Millie Vogt-Safley. She received her education in the Traer schools where she graduated in 1943. She continued her education at Gates Business College and in 1944 began working the in office at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo until her retirement in 1984. She made her home in Waterloo and spent her weekends working on the family farm near Traer. For the past 40 years Pauline has shared her home with her dear friend Anita Rau. In April of 2008 she became a resident of the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer where her death came on Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012 at the age of 87 years. She was a member of the Ripley United Church in Traer. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John, sisters, Elizabeth, Katherine and Bertha. She is survived by dear friend Anita Rau of Waterloo, and numerous cousins.
