The Union Lady Knights have caught fire late in the season, winning four straight games last week to even their overall record at 13-13 on the season.
The girls beat Dike-New Hartford, Wapsie Valley, Maquoketa and Cedar Rapids, Washington in succession. Senior Brittany Appleton had two RBI and a stolen base in the victory over CR, perhaps one of the girls' most significant this season. The final regular season game was on Tuesday against Independence.
