Four people from Davenport were arrested last Thursday in connection with the death of a Rock Island man.
The body of Alan K. Porter, formerly of Dysart, was found Monday afternoon on the beach next to the Rock Island bike path between the Centennial and Crescent bridges. A passing bicyclist discovered the body and reported it to police at 3:09 p.m. on Monday, June 11, according to a statement released by Police Deputy Chief Jeff VenHuizen.
The preilminary cause of death is listed as "traumatic injuries of a serious nature," according to Rock Island County Coroner Brian Gustafson.

Ryan B. Mosher, 20, was arrested for homicide. Jessie R. Martin, 23, Patrick K. Watts, 26, and Melinda N. Burkhardt, 28, were all arrested on one count each of concealing a homicidal death. As of this week, the four were still being held without bond at the RIC Jail.
Porter, who was 51, still has family in Dysart. His son, Jonathan, graduated from Union High School this spring.
