Need an incentive to get in some exercise? The annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk race day is scheduled for the 4th of July at 8 a.m. and will start at the Dysart Park open house shelter.

All participants must be registered. Registration forms can be picked up at most local businesses. If registered before June 29th, there is a $15 registration fee that includes a free t-shirt, refreshments and a prize drawing. Registration after June 29th is $20. Participants can register between 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on race day but are not guaranteed a t-shirt.

Packets can be picked up on race day starting at 6:45 a.m. at the open house shelter. All packets must be picked up by 7:45 a.m. There will be a separate table for those who have pre-registered.

Kenny Wilcox holds the male course record at 16:12 and Jill Wagaman holds the female course record at 18:37. Medals are given to the top three finishers in seven age divisions for males and females. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female runners.

All proceeds go to Club Dysart's 4th of July fireworks.

There will be an adult kickball tournament following the 5K at 9 a.m. Teams of nine must be signed up by June 29 to participate. There is a $50 entry fee per team and checks can be made payable to Club Dysart. There will be cash payouts to the first and second place teams.
