Union High School's Trev Hadachek, already projected as one of the state's top football recruits for 2013, will have another chance to showcase his skills this weekend at the Iowa 7-on-7 Midwest Shootout in Marshalltown.
The shootout, which features some of the top teams and talent from across the state, will be held Sunday, June 24 at Marshalltown High School. The top four teams from the shootout earn free entry into the 7-on-7 national championship, set for July 20-22 in Washington, D.C.
Hadachek is among the state's top recruits, and has already received early offers from Eastern Illinois, North Dakota and South Dakota State. He has taken unofficial visits to Wisconsin and Minnesota over the past few months, and has drawn moderate interest from college football powerhouses like Notre Dame, Oregon, and Arkansas, as well as both Iowa State and Iowa.
Hadachek is described as one of Iowa high school football's most versatile athletes by many observers, and has played quarterback, wide receiver and defensive back during his time at Union.
This season, he will lead a team that comes off a 2011 State Championship and will be hungry to repeat. Despite the loss of leading rusher Wes Burnside, many observers say the Knights have a legitimate opportunity to contend for another state title this season.
