Forty-four members of the Iowa NcNamees gathered at the Dysart Community Building on Sunday, June 3 for the 89th annual McNamee reunion. They were descendents of the original McNamees who came from Ohio in the late 1800's and settled around Dysart and Waterloo.
Members enjoyed visiting, looking through old photo albums and records, and reminiscing.
A potluck lunch was served at noon, and then the business meeting was held. President Kendal Crawford opened the meeting with the singing of "America." Acting secretary-treasurer, Kimberly Beebe, provided reports.
It was decided that the 90th annual reunion would be held at the Community Building the first Sunday in June, 2013. Auburn, Parkersburg, Shellsburg, Swisher, Tama, Toledo, Vinton, and Waterloo. Also present were family members from Casa Grande, Arizona, Barrington, Illinois and Rochester, Minnesota.
