Volunteers working on dugouts

May 24, 2012
Jenni Kugel , Dysart Reporter

Volunteers began working on the new dugouts that will be at the baseball field in the Dysart City Park on Saturday, May 12. The old dugouts had been in place for over 30 years and were in need of major repairs. A worker from Manatt's in Vinton arrived Saturday morning to pour the concrete for the new floors of the dugouts. Helping to smooth out the concrete were Jon Asmussen, Kendall Havran and Nolan Havran. Each yard of concrete costs $100 and Manatt's has graciously donated one yard. Other community members have expressed interest in donating one yard of concrete also. Fundraising efforts are in the works as materials are needed to complete the project. If anyone is interested in donating a yard of concrete or making any donations for the new dugouts, please contact Laurie Havran at 476-2697. The volunteers are greatly appreciated as this will be a very nice asset for the ballfield.
