It's a garden extravaganza!

Spring has sprung! That means it's time for The Blacksmith Boutique & Garden Studio to hold their annual Garden Extravaganza. This will be the fifth year that the event has been held at Deb Ewoldt's shop at 506 Wilson Street in Dysart.

Ewoldt is a local artist who is passionate about her work. "The majority of my things are custom," Ewoldt said. "It's fun to take something that's absolutely nothing and create it into something." Ewoldt takes rusty old metal and morphs it into works of art, turning her quaint shop into a perfect blend of two of her favorite interests. "I love gardening so this is a great time of year with all of the pretty plants," Ewoldt said. "We also have a great selection of fresh hanging baskets and plants in addition to the pieces I create."

The event will be held May 10-12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Refreshments will be served for those who stop by. The Blacksmith Boutique & Garden Studio is just one of the great shops along Main Street in Dysart.

"This is another draw for people to come to town and they usually come not just for one thing, but for the entire town and to look at everything," Ewoldt said.

Don't forget that the Garden Extravaganza is being held on Mother's Day weekend. Ewoldt encourages everyone to bring their mothers and enjoy the studio. And don't forget to support the local businesses while shopping for those last minute Mother's Day gifts!
