Throughout the six decades since Congress established an annual National Day of Prayer, untold millions of Americans have come together every year to express humble reliance upon the Almighty.
On May 3, 2012, citizens will once again gather statewide, and at points around the globe, to lift our nation and leaders before the Lord. Because our nation continues to navigate through extremely challenging and pivotal days, the National Day of Prayer Task Force has chosen One Nation Under God as the 2012 theme. The inspiration is found in Psalm 33:12, which offers this important reminder: "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. . ." The Community of Faith who sponsored the Milk for Many and "Fruits of the Spirit" after school program are planning to have a time of prayer May 3, 2012, from 11 a.m.-12 in the conference room of the Norma Anders Public Library in Dysart.
There will be a time of silent prayer with a paper of scriptures and items, or praying individually and then joining at the end with spoken prayer. Everyone is welcome to come and join us to lift up the needs of our nation to the Lord.
