Before Judge Sosalla:

Tyler Scott Downs, 20, Dysart pled guilty to assault causing injury and was fined $315.

He was charged on Feb. 28, 2010, with serious assault after allegedly stabbing his brother in the arm with a pen. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joe Quandt.

Gregory Allen Brown, 42, Garwin, sentenced on a charge of assault to commit sexual abuse - no injury. He pled guilty on Sept. 7.

Brown was fined $625, received a suspended two-year prison sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for two years. He was directed to register on the Iowa Sex Offender Registry and pay the $10 registration fee.

A charge of serious domestic assault was dismissed.

He was charged on July 4, 2010, by Toledo Police Sgt. Bob Kendall. Court records indicated the alleged victim suffered bruising to both her arms and legs.

Jules Gaylord Wanatee, 42, rural Montour was fined $1,250 and sentenced to seven days in jail with the term to run concurrent with one imposed in Meskwaki Tribal Court on a charge of 1st offense drunken driving.

Wanatee had entered a guilty plea on Aug. 31 to the charge filed on Dec. 17, 2010, in the 100 block of West Village Road by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Lee Posusta.

On a charge of child endangerment filed in a County Attorney's information in connection with the same case, Wanatee received a suspended, two-year prison term and was fined $625.

He was placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services and directed to pay a $300 supervisory fee.

Llewellyn Roberts, 48, rural Montour, was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $750 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, 3rd or subsequent offense. The jail term and fine were both suspended and he was placed on probation for three years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.

Roberts pled guilty to the charge on Aug. 4.

A charge of public intoxication, 3rd or subsequent offense was dismissed.

Roberts was arrested on April 18, 2010, at Red Earth and Deerfield Crossing by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Lee Posusta. A search at the Tama County jail in Toledo resulted in finding a small bag of marijuana in Roberts' pocket according to court records.

Darcy Davenport, 26, rural Tama, pled guilty to a charge of assault. Davenport was sentenced to seven days in jail to be served concurrently with a Benton County jail sentence.

The charge was filed on June 18 after Davenport originally hit another person in the side of the face while in the 100 block of East 5th Street in Tama. Tama Police Officer Jamie Youngbear filed the charge.

Corey Alan Alman, 24, Marshalltown, pled guilty to identify theft and was fined $625.

Alman was charged on May 21 with using an i.d. card not issued to him to enter the Meskwaki Bingo Casino. The charge was filed by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Casey Schmidt.
