Virginia Gay Hospital’s Diabetes Education Program being offered

Virginia Gay Hospital's Diabetes Education Program is offering the following 2 classes for those with Diabetes: Thursday October 20, 2011 from 2-4pm in the cafeteria -""Home Blood Sugar Monitoring-What Do I Do with the Results?" and "Staying Healthy for the Long Haul-Long Term Complications of Diabetes" presented by Julie Hansen RN. The following Thursday, October 27, the class will be on "Healthy Eating for Diabetes-How Am I Doing?" presented by Mary Beth Peiffer RD LD CDE. Physician referral needed. Virginia Gay Hospital's Diabetes Education Program is offering the class "Pre-Diabetes What Do I Do Now?" It is on Thursday, November 3, 2011 in the cafeteria. NO physician referral needed. Public is invited. A fee cover materials. Call 319-472-6193 for more information or to RSVP by November 2.

Virginia Gay Hospital's Diabetes Support Group will meet Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6:30-7:30pm in the Admin Boardroom-lower level. Topic will be "Medication Update- New Pathway to Controlling Blood Sugar- the "Gut Hormones." Presenter will be Leah Keller of Novo Nordisk. RSVP to 319-472-6193 by October 10.
