Evelyn Gail Noe, 92 of Traer died Saturday, September 24, 2011at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer of natural causes. Services were held Wednesday, September 28 at Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer with burial at Waterloo Memorial Park in Waterloo.
Evelyn Gail Noe was born October 27, 1918 on a farm in rural Dysart, daughter of Frank and Agnes Toni Chudlic Kosnar. She started her schooling in the Dysart and Traer schools then moved with her family to Grand Junction, Colo., where she graduated from Fruitvale High School. She continued her education at Ross Business College in Grand Junction, Colo. and then worked at Farmers Savings Bank in Traer from 1939-1942. On January 8, 1942 she was united in marriage to Cleo Jacob Noe at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. After their marriage they lived in rural Hudson where her husband owned and operated Noe's Service Station. In 1972 they moved to Toledo where she continued to make her home after Cleo's death on February 24, 1976. In 1994 she returned to an apartment in Traer until June 13, 2001 when she entered the Sunrise Hill Care Center where her death came on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the age of 92 years. She was an active member of the Ripley United Church of Christ and also volunteered at the nursing home for many years. Other free times were spent, bowling, playing basketball, volleyball and biking. She also enjoyed gardening and adding to her owl collection, most all she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cleo, two sons, Floyd Donald Noe and Sidney Vernon Noe and a daughter Lois Philp, and one brother Frank Vernon Kosnar. She is survived by one daughter Irene M. Moran of Toledo, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
