Sept. 17, 1931

A very pretty and impressive wedding ceremony took place at the country home of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Raudebaugh, northwest of Dysart, the afternoon of Sunday, September 13, when their youngest daughter, Sara E., was united in marriage to Mr. Otis Cole of Shelby, Neb.

Miss Margaret Keel, 17, daughter of Mrs. Effie Keel of Traer, died Monday at the hospital in Iowa City. She would have been a senior in the Traer school this year.

Sept. 18, 1941

Lyle Casey of near Toledo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Casey of near Brooklyn, and Miss June Marie Hushak, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred J. Hushak, living north of Clutier, were united in marriage Tuesday morning in the Immaculate Conception Church in Clutier.

The death of Herman Schroeder, who had been a familiar figure on the streets of Dysart since 1896 when he entered in to business here, was a shock to the community. His death occurred Sunday night when he was being rushed to a Waterloo hospital in the hopes that a blood transfusion would save his life.

Sept. 20, 1951

Dysart will have its own Tournament of Champions on Sunday, September 23. Allison, Sumner and Vinton Vets will participate. A purse of $350 has been provided.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Pohlman, Ronnie and Robbie returned recently from a 3,000 mile trip through the eastern states.

Sept. 29, 1960

Natural gas is now flowing through the mains in Dysart. The gas was turned on at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday during a special ceremony held at the border station near Dysart.

Mr. and Mrs. Myron Schuchart and their children, Mary 15, and Don 17, were named winners of the WMT Station's free weekend at the 1960 International Livestock Exposition in Chicago.

Sept. 28, 1961

Mr. and Mrs. Duane Winterroth are the parents of a son born Sunday, September 24, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

The Dysart Trojans won the boys' sectional baseball championship here last Wednesday afternoon by defeating Geneseo's fine team, 6-4.

Sept. 16, 1971

Diane E. Vogeler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Vogeler of Buckingham, and Kenneth J. Yuska, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Yuska of Hudson, were united in marriage Thursday, Sept. 2, in the Immaculate Conception Church, Blessing.

Henry Gloede won the "jackpot" Friday night after two names had been called. Dorothy Lyshik and John Docekal were not present. The jackpot this Friday night will contain $373.

Sept. 17, 1981

Rex and Judy Raub of Dysart are the proud parents of a new baby boy, their first son, born on Thursday, September 10, at Schoitz Hospital in Waterloo. He has been named Joseph William.

Alan and Melissa Jackson of Vinton are the parents of their first child, a son, born Friday, Sept. 11, at Virginia Gay Hospital. He has been named Nicholas Alan.

Sept. 19, 1991

Ben and Merri Hach of Dysart are the parents of a daughter born Monday, August 26, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She has been named Tiffany Janelle.

Richard and Deborah Arp of rural Clutier are the parents of their second child, a daughter, born Thursday, September 10, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She has been named Amanda Christine.

Sept. 13, 2001

Kimble and Annie Gingrich of Colorado are the parents of a baby boy born on August 27. He has been named Gavin Rider Gingrich.

Todd and Vickie Damro of Dysart are the parents of a son born on September 4, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He has been named Noah Matthew Lee Damro.
