Emergency Service workers to be honored at next Union home game

September 7, 2011
Dysart Reporter

On Friday, September 9 during halftime of the Union vs Center Point-Urbana game in La Porte City, the Union football team will be honoring all citizens who serve (policemen, firefighters, EMT's) the communities within our Union Community School system. The public announcer will ask you to gather at the NE corner of the stadium near the concession stand and then enter the game field to be honored on the goal line (north) located closest to the American flag.

Patriot Day is an annual observance on September 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001. Many Americans refer Patriot Day as 9/11 or September 11. All flags are to be positioned at half mast to honor those that have given their lives while performing an act of duty.

Join the Knights as they open with their first district game with the varsity game starting at 7:30pm. A sophomore game will preceed the varsity game and will kickoff at 5:15pm.
