Martin Cervantes, 50, rural Tama, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. Cervantes was sentenced to a two-year suspended prison term and placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services. He was given credit for any jail time already served and was fined $625.
Cervantes was charged on Jan. 1 for allegedly displaying a handgun he had been carrying in the waistband of his pants and threatening to kill a person and the person's family. The incident occurred in 100 block of East 5th Street in Tama. Tama Police Detective John Carr field the charge.
Barbara Ann Thompson, 37, rural Tama, pled guilty to driving while license revoked. She received a suspended 30-day jail sentence with credit for any time already served, was fined $1,000 and placed on unsupervised probation for one year.
Johnson was charged on April 19 at U.S. Highway 30 and 305th Street by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Offcier Ron Pexa.
Mario Herrera-Rodriguez, 22, Fremont, Calif., entered a written guilty plea to driving while barred. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit fro 30 days already served and fined $625.
Herrera-Rodriguez was charged on July 28 at Kiwi Star in Toledo by Toledo Police Chief Jeffrey Harnish.
