Harry Stanley Eggers, 55

Harry Stanley Eggers, 55, died Monday, August 22, 2011 at Villa Del Sol Care Center, Marshalltown following a battle with cancer. A visitation will be held one before the service at the church. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown with Pastor Karen Cluts officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown.

Harry Stanley Eggers was born February 11, 1956 at Fort Sill, Okla., son of Earl and Mary (Schultz) Eggers. He was raised in Gladbrook, where he received his education. On January 28, 1978 he was united in marriage to Martha Ann Bakkeat the ElimLutheran Church in Marshalltown. Harry and Martha made their home in Texas, Gladbrook, Toledo, and Marshalltownwhere he worked as an independent contractor in the construction business for 25 years. Recently Harry has been diagnosed with cancer and was a resident of the Villa Del Sol Care Center in Marshalltownwhere he died Monday, August 22, 2011 at the age of 55 years. He was a member of the ElimLutheran Church in Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his father Earl and father in law Richard Bakke. He is survived by his wife Martha, sons Stanley Eggers and Erick(Heidi) Eggers, one daughter Jennifer (Kevin) Sharp and his mother Mary Eggers all of Marshalltown, brothers, Donald Herkerof Clear Lake, Bob Schultz of Brownsville, Texas, Tom Medberryof Cedar Rapids, and Henry Cowgerof Marshalltown, sisters, KarinHabilzelof Finflay, Ohio, Mary Hall of Tama, and Barb Wyatt of Grinnell.

Overton Funeral Home, Traer were in charge of the arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established.
