The Union Knights took on the Jefferson Jay-Hawks on Tuesday, May 17. The Knights scored their first goal ten minutes into the first half after junior sweeper Brittany Frush took a free kick from the top of the 18 yard line. Sophomore forward Kylie Powell followed Frush's kick and finished it with a finessed pass into the goal. The Knights next two goals cam within two minutes of each other, at the 17:33 and 16:22 minute marks, respectively. Junior forward Noel Mahood found Powell for the first goal of that pair, while sophomore mid Aryn Isenhower connected with Powell for the second. The Knights led 3-0 at half-time.
Their only goal of the second half came off quick transition play. Mahood crossed the ball to senior forward Ashley Timmer who followed her own first attempt and then finished with a shot to the far post. Throughout the game, junior mid Tori Zempel covered the field very well and shut down several Jay-Hawks' attempts to set up their offense. The Knights out-shot the Jay-Hawks 21-4.
