Gladys was born April 9, 1932 in rural Vining to William and Agnes Ledvina Benda. She went to school through the eighth grade. She married Milo C. Nekola on January 16, 1951.

She was a homemaker. She held office with the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Assocation, and was a member of the Carrol Township Homemakers, Tama St Patrick's Catholic Church, Eagles Auxiliary and the Rosary Society. Gladys was always a very social person, who enjoyed meeting people and going places, she enjoyed the farm life, cooking, baking, casinos and travel. Some of her trips were to the Middle East and Europe as well as seeing the United States via Amtrak, along with attending Polka Festivals and auctions sales. She enjoyed her kids, grandkids, relatives and friends.

There were no strangers in Glady's life, she will be greatly missed by everyone who ever met her. She left us with so many great memories and fun times.
