Union grapplers drop one in double dual

The Union High School wrestling team took on GRNT and Denver-Tripoli in a double dual meet at home on January 13. Union took command of GRNT winning by a final score of 74-6. Points were scored for the Knights by: Ted Tecklenburg and Cole Reiter, at 103 and 112 respectively, with open classes; Joey Damro at 125 winning by a fall in 1:58; Garrick Powell at 130 winning 9-0; Logan Thomsen at 135 winning by a fall in 2:28; Austin Dengler at 140 winning by a fall in 1:53; Dylan McLaughlin winning by a fall in 1:42; Christian Gray at 152 and Cody Krall at 160 who had open classes; Jake Reiter at 171 winning 10-2; Matt Schmitz at 189 winning by a fall in 3:41; and Josh Clark at 215 and Jacob Clark at 275 who had open classes.

The Knights didn't fare so well againt Denver-Tripoli losing by a score of 52-19. Those scoring points for Union were: Ernie Hennings at 119 winning by a fall in :37; Dylan McLaughlin at 145 winning 8-0; Matt Schmitz at 189 winning 7-2; and Jacob Clark at 275 winning by a fall in 1:24.
