Union baseball finishes regular season

Union dropped a doubleheader to Vinton on July 9, 11-0 and 14-6. The Knights were never in game one as Vinton scored in every inning but the second. Reid Monroe took the loss allowing 11 hits, 3 walks, and striking out 3. Union bats managed only three hits in the loss.

Game two started the same as Vinton went out 5-0, but Union came back with six in the second. Trev Hadachek and Cory Feldpouch had RBI singles before Will Crees cleared the bases with a double. The Knights could not get any more across as Vinton retook and kept the lead. Trev Hadachek and Will Crees each two hits. Four Union pitchers allowed 8 hits and 8 walks with Cole Hinders taking the loss.

Union closed out the regular season with a 14-6 loss to Benton Community. The Bobcats jumped on Union for five runs in the first then went up 7-0 before Union answered with two in the third and fourth frames. Reid Monroe took the loss on the mound. At the plate, Cory Feldpouch and Reid Monroe had two hits while Blake Clark had two RBI's. Union finishes the regular season at 6-22.
