April 10, 1930

Mr. and Mrs. Abe W. Lincoln are the parents of a son born Tuesday in Waterloo.

Fire of unknown origin destroyed the house on the Story estate farm southeast of Dysart Wednesday morning.

April 11, 1940

Miss Irene Dengler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dengler, and Ed Halupnik, son of Mrs. Louie Halupnik, were married Saturday in Cedar Rapids.

The Dysart Trojans started off their baseball season in good style by winning over the La Porte City boys with a score of 7-4.

April 6, 1950

Karen Olson, Larry Luze, Darlys Offt, Dianne Holst, Robert Selk, and Zybel Winterroth were confirmed Sunday at services in Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. U. F. Groth.

Coach Art Borwick's 1950 Dysart Trojans won their first two baseball games of the season by outslugging Garrison Monday 11-3, and Clutier Wednesday 11-2.

April 14, 1960

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gordon were pleasantly surprised Sunday in honor of their 25th wedding anniversary when relatives and friends came with well filled baskets of food from which a delicious dinner was served in honor of the occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shonk are parents of a son born Monday, April 11, at the Vinton hospital. This is the couple's second child and first son.

April 9, 1970

Mary L. Nelson became Dysart town clerk on April 1, after the resignation of Merle P. Olson. Nelson is in charge of the new office now located in the new fire station.

Mr. and Mrs. D. Frank Mitchell of Geneseo Township are announcing the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Sara Elizabeth of Bloomington, Minn., to Thomas James O'Neill, son of the Richard O'Neill's of Minneapolis. A May wedding is planned.

April 10, 1980

Dysart assistant police chief Michael Burke is leaving Dysart to assume the assistant chief's position in Belle Plaine, effective Monday, April 21.

Final statistics for the boys basketball season were released last week and show Joe Coffey to be the Trojans leading scorer and rebounder for the 1979-80 season.

April 19, 1990

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Anders will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, April 29, with an open house at Zion Lutheran Church.

Wedding vows were exchanged by Peggy Ann Dixon of Cedar Falls and Bart Matthew Barthelmes of Dysart in a private ceremony on February 2, 1990

April 20, 2000

Ann and Charles Flatness of Ankeny are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Sydney Ann, on April 13, 2000.

Mark and Stephanie Hookham of Dysart are proud to announce the birth of their second son, Tate Alexander, on April 14, 2000.
