Amanda Kay Kajer, 21, Tama, pled guilty to a reduced charge of assault. She received a one-year deferred sentence, was assessed a $65 civil penalty and placed on unsupervised probation.
Kajer was charged on March 23, 2009, with assault - domestic abuse with weapon by Toledo Police Chief Jeff Harnish. Court records accuse her of assaulting a victim by running over his right foot with her car at which time she stopped with the tire on his foot and continued to argue with him about a domestic situation. The incident occurred in the 700 block of South Church Street.
Betsy Kay Johnston, 31, Traer, pled guilty to the lesser offense of assault. She was fined $100.
Johnston was originally charged by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bryan Ellenbecker with serious domestic assault. She was accused of striking her boyfriend with a metal candlestick causing a laceration on his nose on Sept. 5, 2009.
James Nelson Gray, 33, Cedar Rapids, pled guilty to the amended charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was fined $100.
Nelson was originally charged on Oct. 17, 2009, with possession of marijuana in the Meskwaki Casino parking lot by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Lee Posusta.
James Richard Glendy, 49, Tama, pled guilty to 1st offense drunken driving. He was fined $1,250 and sentenced to two days in jail.
Glendy was charged on Feb. 14 by Tama Police Detective John Carr.
