March 27, 1930

Announcement has been made of the approaching wedding of Miss Lovilla Heckroth to Dr. G. L. McCalanahan of Iowa Falls.

Three cans of soup for 25 cents! Two pounds of coffee for 75 cents! These were some of the prices back in 1930 at the Briardale Store under the ownership of Robert L. Wilson.

March 28, 1940

On Easter Sunday, Miss Esther Handorff, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Handorff of near Melbourne, became the bride of Russell C. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nelson of Dysart.

The Keystone Evergreen Hatchery, operated by Robert Kullmer from his Dysart plant, was damaged slightly in a fire which was discovered at about 3 a.m. Tuesday by the driver of a passing truck.

March 23, 1950

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Holtz are the parents of a son born Monday at Vinton.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burger, Jr., are the parents of a son born Saturday in Waterloo.

April 5, 1990

Steven and Hope Hix of Dysart are the parents of their first child, a daughter, born Friday, March 30, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. She has been named Hannah Elizabeth.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reints of Dysart announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Tammy Kae, to Mathew John Mehlhaus, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mehlhaus, also of Dysart. A May 26, wedding is planned.

April 6, 2000

Susan Kathleen Krafka of Dysart and Donald Patrick McLean of Traer were united in marriage on Friday, November 26, in Eagle Center.

Michael Kavalier, son of Rodney and Mary Jo Kavalier, was recognized at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Sunday, April 2.
