The Dysart Development Corporation will hold its annual meeting on Tuesday, April 6, at the Dysart Community Building. The doors will open at 6 p.m. for visitors to view the business displays. A free soup supper will be served at 6:30 p.m., and no reservations are needed for the supper. The business meeting will begin at approximately 7 p.m. The DDC is a non-profit community development organization representing all the residents and businesses of the community. Its primary objectives are to improve the quality of life in our area for residents of all ages; promote the recruitment of new business; and promote the growth and diversification of local economy through the retention and expansion of existing businesses. Some of the 2009 projects that DDC was involved in were: Farmers Market; Spring on Main; Wine Fest; Christmas on Main; Waterloo Home Show; Meals on Wheels; new banners and flags for Main Street; park displays; assisting Club Dysart with the July 4th celebration; security cameras for the city and park; Old Iron Days; Over 50 computer classes; Peoplerides; updated DVD in marketing assets of Dysart; and Soiree in the City.
